The Veterinary Emergency Clinic was founded in 1975 by a group of 25 local veterinarians. The hospital was established as a corporation, with each veterinarian acting as a stock owner. Currently, there are approximately 123 area veterinarians who are participating owners in the VEC.
The original VEC building, which was located in Winter Park, was purchased in 1975. It was enlarged and remodeled several times until growth forced us to move to two new custom built clinics in 2001. These clinics are located in Seminole and OrangeCounty. In 2004 a third location was opened in Lakecounty.
