   Mission Statement:
"Resolved that the purpose of the Veterinary Emergency Clinic is to provide emergency service and first aid.  This purpose is to be noted and reaffirmed to all members of the corporation. For indigent persons or those persons who refuse to pay for services, adequate first aid will be given to the animal and the animal will be referred back to the regular veterinarian for complete care."

 
C. Michael Hayes, D.V.M.

   Dr. Hayes graduated May of 1993 from VA - MD College of Veterinary Medicine after completing his undergraduate degree at Virginia Tech.  Dr Hayes is a member of the A.V.M.A. and Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society.  Originally from Virginia, Dr. Hayes moved to Central Florida in 1995.  He has been with the VEC for over 8 years.


Nicholas R. Hubbard, D.V.M.

   Dr. Nick Hubbard graduated from the University of Saskatchewan in 1990.  Upon graduation Dr. Hubbard worked in a small animal / equine practice until 1994.  He is also a member of the A.V.M.A. and Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society.  Dr. Hubbard moved to Orlando in April of 1998 to begin working at the VEC.




 Sharon M. Dietz, D.V.M.

Originally from Central Pennsylvania, Dr Sharon Dietz graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a B.S. in Dairy and Animal Science in 1996. Go Nittany Lions!  Dr. Dietz graduated from VA - MD Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 2001. Go Hokies!  That same year she moved to Orlando and started part-time for the VEC. In February of 2002 Dr Dietz came on full-time at the VEC.



 Celeste G. Brotherson, D.V.M.

Dr. Celeste Brotherson graduated from the University of Florida's College of Veterinary Medicine in 2002 after completing her B.S. in Animal Science from the same university in 1993. Dr. Brotherson started with the VEC in 1994 as a veterinary technician.  She continued to be employed at the VEC as a technician until graduation.  Dr. Brotherson is also a member of the A.V.M.A. 



Steven L. Schindler, D.V.M.

Dr. Steve Schindler  graduated from Penn State University in 1984 with a B.S. in Biology.  In 1986 he received a masters in comparative physiology from NCSU, where he also completed NCSU's College of Veterinary Medicine in 1990.  After two years in a mixed practice in Western Pennsylvania, Dr Schindler then started a solo private practice in  North-Central Pennsylvania for 12 years.  He relocated to Orlando in 2002 with his wife of 21 years and two daughters and began working for the VEC.


Raina L. Rushing, D.V.M.


   Dr. Raina Rushing received a Bachelor of Science degree in biology at Mississippi State University.  She received her doctorate in 2002 at MSU College of Veterinary Medicine.  The next year she completed a rotating small animal internship at Florida Veterinary Specialists in Tampa, FL.  Dr. Rushing is a member of the A.V.M.A. and the Veterinary Emergency & Critical Care Society.  Dr. Rushing and her German Shepard Kai have been at the VEC since the end of 2004.  Her other pets include a cat, a bird, and two horses.
